Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is an important support to prevent decay from occurring as well as remineralize white spots that have been demineralized by the acid that results from the reaction between the bacteria in the saliva and the food. It can be either be used at home or placed in the dental office. At home, fluoride is provided by using toothpaste and mouth rinses. In the dental office, it is usually painted on teeth after a good cleaning by the hygienist. The fluoride treatment used in the office is a varnish made from 5% Sodium Fluoride.
