Preventive Resin Restorations

Sometimes, the grooves, pits, and fissures found on the surface of a tooth are very deep that it requires tooth preparation and some filling to prevent food from getting into them. This is done by using a small round rotating instrument that is passed thru the grooves to remove the cavitation and then filled with composite restorations to make it smooth. This is mostly performed on the molars and bicuspids.
